![]() Useful information on traveling to Panama City _________________________________________________________________________________
Panama City is in Northwest Florida on the Gulf of Mexico. Panama City has an airport: Bay County Municipal Airport (PFN). Delta has the most flights into Panama City from Atlanta though you can get there on USAIR from Tampa and Orlando and on Northwest from Memphis. If you want to fly from Miami, you are better off doing Miami/Tallahassee on Delta, which is a relatively inexpensive flight. You can rent a car in Tallahassee, which is only a 2-hour drive to PCB. It is a 5-hour drive from Atlanta or New Orleans, 6 hours from Orlando or Tampa, 12 hours from Miami. Most people driving from South Florida do the boring way on Interstate 75 North to Interstate 10 West to Route 231 South. It may be faster but if you have time and want to discover "another Florida", you can drive up Route 19 and then 98 to explore the Gulf Coast. Crystal River, Homosassa Springs, Cedar Key, Apalachicola, Wakulla Springs, Cape St. Blas, Georges Island, etc. There are so many pristine and untouched wetlands and shore lines to explore. Relatively inexpensive motels can be found on the way.Back to "Where is Panama City"
