Grief Support Program with Dolphins in Panama City Beach Fl

At Water Planet, we offer an unique experience to swim with wild dolphins whist providing grief education and support to bereaved children and their families to help alleviate the pain and isolation felt by the loss of a parent, sibling or legal guardian. The experience is a combination of dolphin encounters, which is a refreshing break from the stress and intensity that grief often brings. However, it’s not just a chance to escape the sadness, but a cathartic journey with purpose. It’s a way for the new family structure to share magical experiences, bond and honor their loved one in the most amazing way. It’s an incredible gift of hope during the toughest of times. During their time at Water Planet, the healing process begins by bringing happiness back into the lives of those grieving and creating new memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. Through this five day Grief Support Program, we integrate an educational component wherein families attend transformational education programs that address grief education, coping strategies, resources and emotional support.

This program commences with a sunset cruise, where you will venture out to the Gulf of Mexico to watch dolphins feed and play whilst the sun is setting across the horizon. It is followed by four dolphin swims which are an incredible experience like no other. The intrinsic connection and sense of fulfilment is unparalleled to anything else, clearing ones mind and body, releasing joy, excitement and hope. Each day, we integrate an educational component wherein families attend transformational programs that address grief education, coping strategies, resources and emotional support. It follows the Seasons of Grief; a developed process which explains the journey of grief in a way that is easy to comprehend for both children and adults alike. These sessions also address elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, expressive arts, and mindfulness for a holistic approach.

Through this combination of wild dolphin encounters and educational sessions; families learn that hope can be restored and they once again can imagine a life full of possibilities, knowing they are not alone and it is okay to feel happy once more.

It is important to note that the dolphins that we engage with in Panama City Beach are wild, therefore we do not feed, touch or ride them, rather embrace them in a natural and pure setting.
