Dolphin Internship 2024 Details & Admission

Some of our main criteria for applicants selection are readiness to work hard (sessions with dolphins and families with special needs children are very intense and demanding), excellent social and communication skills, physical endurance, excellent swimming skills, languages (we cater to families from all over the world) and ability to get along with other interns as roommates.

You will receive more information about the practical aspect of the program and an application form by request. Conditions for admission are available by e-mail.

Note: Below are some of the activities you will be involved in. In addition, you will be helping with our 1-Day3-Day and 1-Week educational programs.

  • June Internship: June 1st. to June 30*. This session will include 1 week of dolphin encounters with children with emotional trauma issues sponsored by the HOPE Foundation, a not-for-profit Research and Development organization based in Panama City Beach, Florida.
  • July Internship: July 6 to August 3rd. This session will include of 1 or 2 weeks of dolphin therapy with the Crystal Sunshine. Crystal Sunshine is a joint effort of the Crystal Ladder Learning CenterFind Your Sunshine and Water Planet. This program specializes in interventions for children with autism.
  • August Internship: July 29. to August 31st.* – The August session will include a special 1-week program with 2 families with children with special needs. 
  • For these 3 months, we will also focus on Eco-tourism management, on the impact on wild dolphins of the interaction with humans in the Panama City area and on their adaptive behavior, on environmental issues and the relationship between humans and dolphins from the dolphins’ point of view.
